The water eject tool
The sounds are generated in your browser with the Web Audio API. The tool doesn't use your microphone, doesn't record anything and doesn't send the settings you choose to our server. It has no accounts and nothing to sign up for.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they come from (country level). This helps us decide which guides to improve. The setup works as follows:
- The analytics script loads only after you interact with the page or after a few seconds, and it isn't loaded for logged-in site administrators or on error pages.
- Google's Consent Mode is used. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are set to denied for everyone. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is also denied by default, so no analytics cookies are set for them.
- IP anonymisation is requested, and we don't send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google.
Where analytics cookies are allowed, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies (named starting with _ga) to tell visits apart. Google processes this data as described in its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept for a limited time and aren't used to identify visitors.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We don't add you to any mailing list.
Children
The site is a general-audience tool and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If the way we handle data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
